A December Newsletter, 12/21/18

Dear Pastors, Friends, and Prayer Partners:

Greetings from our home in Florida. This week I have been reading in 1 and 2 Corinthians and have been reminded of our ministry’s chosen theme verse: “For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake” (2 Cor. 4:5).  Although I have been preaching since the Fall of 1986, it was in the Fall of 1994 that Bethlie and I officially “hit the revival trail.” What a privilege we have had to preach the good news of the gospel and to serve so many local churches! We recognize every single day that we could never have done it without your love and faith and prayers and support.  Thank you so very much.

The final weeks of ministry were very blessed and I officially closed the year by speaking at the Michigan Conference on Revival – a meeting that was not as well attended as we had hoped but one that was marked by a spirit of increasing faith in the promises of God and a spirit of brokenness concerning the need to take the gospel to the state of Michigan and around the world.  God met with us in every service and I believe is stirring His churches to greater works.

I have been home for several weeks and these weeks have been full. Bethlie and I took a few days to celebrate our 25th anniversary and to marvel at God’s goodness in our lives and family. We are awed by all the ways He is blessing our home. Our Abbie is serving at Lancaster Baptist Church in Lancaster, CA along with her fiancé David who is a professor at West Coast Baptist College. David and Abbie both love the Lord and are avid soul-winners.  They will be getting married in July.  Joshua is graduating in May and his fiancé is also on staff at West Coast Baptist College. They too love the Lord and are serving him with all of their hearts. It seems that God is opening a door for them to serve a local church in Southern California.  We are so excited for them and for their coming marriage this summer as well.  Our Matthew is in Bible college as well and is growing spiritually by leaps and bounds. On his way home for Christmas break, he witnessed to a worker in the Nashville airport and lead that man to Christ! Jacob is in high school, is now my right hand man (his brothers are gone), loves the guitar, and is a delight to be around. So is my Charity. She is now 10 and is also growing in the Lord.  Can you see why Bethlie and I are awed by God’s goodness? What a privilege to serve the Lord with our family.

These weeks have also been full of plans for the new year. Micah is increasingly burdened for the nation of India and for the more than one billion souls who need to be saved there. He is planning deputation trips here at home as well as evangelistic trips both in India and in Africa. While he is making those plans, I am preparing to preach revivals, Couple’s Retreats, and Family Conferences literally from coast to coast.  I will also be heading to the Philippines for several evangelistic meetings as well.

Thank you for partnering with us as we serve. We are incredibly blessed by you!

Would you pray about these matters?

  1. Micah’s support and ministry. Schedule him if you can. Here is his number: 720-771-7256.
  2. Micah’s trips to India and Africa.  If you wish to support those you can donate on our website. There is a link just for Micah on the donation part of the website.
  3. My trip to the Philippines in March.  You can also donate to this on our site as well.
  4. God’s power to rest on our ministry and for souls to come to Christ in 2019.

You are a blessing you know?  And we love you all.

Merry, merry Christmas!

Your sincere friend,

Dave Young
