A Devotional Thought Regarding the Pursuit of Purity

Ephesians 5 is an awesome chapter for many reasons.  It is a very important chapter about marriage and it is a very important chapter about purity.  In fact, I found 7 reminders about the pursuit of purity.  Check them out:

  1. Set a high standard (not one time).

Verse 3 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it “NOT BE ONCE” named among you, as becometh saints.

  1. Practice gratitude.

Verse 4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient, but rather GIVING OF THANKS.

  1. Beware of idols.

Verse 5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, not unclean person, nor covetous man, WHO IS AN IDOLATER, has any inheritance in theP kingdom of Christ and of God.

  1. Maintain your distance.

Verse 7 Be not ye therefore PARTAKERS with them.

  1. Expose Evil.

Verse 11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather REPROVE them.

  1. Invest your time wisely.

Verse 16 Redeeming THE TIME because the days are evil.

  1. Rely on the Spirit.

Verse 18 Be FILLED with the Spirit.

How are you doing?  Any one of these worthy of your consideration and improvement?  Remember that the pursuit of purity is a worthwhile pursuit!

Thanks for reading.
