Happy Valentines Day to my Single Friends

Dear single friends,

Happy Valentines Day to you. This is a day to celebrate relationships and to minister love. Even if we have no one to celebrate, we can still minister love. Visit a widow or widower; buy flowers for your parents; give a gift to a lonely neighbor; take someone out to eat and encourage them; or perhaps offer to babysit for someone so they can celebrate. Love is an awesome thing, and we don’t have to be in a relationship to minister it to those around us. And by the way, married friends, we should do the same!

In the words of the Holy Spirit through the Apostle Paul: “Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And thought I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. and though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. Charity suffers long, and is kind . . .” (I Corinthians 13:1-4a).

That is the kind of love I want to live! I hope you do.

Thanks for reading,

Your sincere friend,

Dave Young
